Asian Metal visits Longshan Carbon, Fengyuan Carbon and Zhonghai Carbon

On the morning of January 12, 2018, Zhao Hao, the sales director, and Helen Li, the carbon assistant analyst, from Asian Metal, visited Jinan Longshan Carbon Co., Ltd. and received a warm welcome from Zhang Shuguo, the vice manager of the company. Mr. Zhang communicated with Helen Li about the current environmental protection situation, and noted that the environmental protection equipment should be upgraded and replaced at fixed period to meet the stricter standard as the environmental protection requirement forms normalization.

Later, Asian Metal paid a visit to Shandong Pingyin Fengyuan Carbon Co., Ltd. and had a friendly discussion with Hu Shiming, the vice general manager of the Operation Department, and Mei Qiwen, the chief engineer of Technology Department of the company. Fengyuan Carbon is planning to conduct capacity replacement project which is expected to be in operation in 2019 after the construction is finished then, and Mr. Mei introduced the project. Helen Li showed her opinion in 2018 prebaked anode market which will be relatively dim based on the current situation of newly-built prebaked anode project and primary aluminum.

On the afternoon of January 12, Asian Metal called at Jinan Zhonghai Carbon Co., Ltd. and talked with Chu Tinggang, the general manager of the company. Mr. Chu who agreed with Helen about 2018 anode market situation thought that anode supply will be sufficient on the whole this year. In addition, he is about to extend anode downstream clients in the Chinese market and overseas market. He also briefly introduced the new anode project in Lianyungang of Jiangsu, Lianyungang Linhai New Material Co., Ltd. They plan to build calcinators at first, expecting to operate 200,000tpy calcintors in H2 of 2019 and export calcined pet coke first. He also said that he will actively take part in the 9th World Primary Aluminum Upstream Raw Materials Summit to be held soon by Asian Metal.
