A bismuth oxide producer in China, with a regular consumption of around 70tpm for bismuth ingot, reported that bismuth ingot prices increase by around RMB2,000/t (USD0.15/lb) further this week to RMB102,000/t (USD7.58/lb), and their offers for bismuth oxide also rise a bit to RMB105,000/t (USD7.80/lb).

The source claimed that they are mainly working on long-term contracts now and few new deals of bismuth oxide are concluded in the spot market. However, as the bismuth ingot prices keep rising, they also have to raise the bismuth oxide offers continuously.

A bismuth ingot producer in China, with an output of around 60tpm, told Asian Metal that their bismuth ingot prices dropped to RMB93,000/t (USD6.91/lb) in early August and then the prices started to rebound from the second week of August. The source claimed that their transaction prices for bismuth ingot reached RMB100,000/t (USD7.43/lb) early last week, and it is a bit difficult to reach deals at offers of over RMB100,000/t (USD7.43/lb).

The source noted that many smelters held back from selling recently, but they kept selling materials and have few stocks in hand now. The source thinks that bismuth ingot market is likely to see more orders into September and the prices will move up further in the near future.Asian Metal Copyright15lb further early this week to RMB102,000-104,000t USD7.Asian Metal Copyright
