BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Dec 13 – According to National Bureau of Statistics, China produced 15,301t of tin ingot in November, up by 3% month-on-month and down by 6% year-on-year.
As tin concentrate imports increased a lot, domestic supply turned abundant, and it is easy for smelters to get the raw material. In addition, with the Spring Festival holiday approaching, some producers received more orders and advanced production. However, tin prices kept falling to a very low level, and producers could gain few profits from the business. Therefore, the production increase was limited.
In the first eleven months of this year, the total tin production stood at 142,557t, up by 3% year-on-year.
In December, most enterprises are under high pressure of circulating capital, and domestic demand sees little improvement. In this case, tin production may not increase further.
