A supplier in China, with an output of around 50tpm for bismuth ingot, reported that they sold some bismuth ingot at RMB126,000/t (USD9.46/lb) to regular customers in late January before the Spring Festival holiday and they do not make offers currently. The source noted that the prices for bismuth ingot increase to RMB128,000/t (USD9.61/lb) and some suppliers even raise offers to RMB130,000/t (USD9.76/lb) this week.
The source thinks that Chinese bismuth ingot prices will rise further in the near future as plants are unwilling to sell materials in large quantities and the stocks in some Asian exchanges are likely to keep increasing. With a stock of around 100t in hand, they do not intend to sell materials in a short term.
