Even though demand remained stable, Chinese bismuth ingot prices appreciated further in January 2014 as the stocks in some Asian exchanges kept increasing. The supply of bismuth metal in Chinese spot market was tight. Chinese bismuth ingot export market saw more orders in January after the Christmas and New Year holiday in overseas markets. The overall bismuth metal market in China was quiet in the last week of January because the transportation was inconvenient before Chinese Spring Festival holiday (January 31st to February 6th).
