Magnesium ingot prices fluctuated wildly in June
. Figures were still on the decline in early June as they had been in May and quotations bottomed out, so overseas buyers entered the market rapidly to restock in large quantities at the lowest prices . Consequently, demand was released and the pressure on plants from large inventories and poor sales was eased . Then prices started to creep up, but the market saw fewer deals and declining demand as most buyers had finished purchasing at rock-bottom prices . The prices ebbed and deals remained sporadic in mid-June . One by one, magnesium plants started to overhaul in late June, but the tighter supply coupled with a marginal increase in ferrosilicon prices ensured prices for magnesium ingots remained firm . In addition, some suppliers that were experiencing very little pressure from capital flows became bearish about the market outlook and even lifted their offers slightly.
