Affected by softening demand from Chinese domestic steel mills, as well as reduction in purchasing from some overseas consumers, transactions were inactive in Chinese manganese flake market in January. The prices showed downtrend again in the middle and late the month after seeing minor rebound in early January. The mainstream prices for manganese flake 99.7%min hovered at RMB11,750-12,050/t (USD1,882-1,930/t) at the end of the month, falling by RMB50/t (USD8/t) over late December 2014.
