A bismuth ingot producer in China reported that they sold 5t of bismuth ingot 99.99%min at RMB69,000/t (USD4.90/lb) on Monday, up further against the price of RMB68,500/t (USD4.87/lb) for a deal of 5t in late last week . In the export market, the producer claimed that they raised offer from USD4.8/lb to USD4.9/lb FOB China late last week following the domestic price rise, with no deals concluded yet . The producer is running part of their capacity with an output of around 40tpm for bismuth ingot 99 . 99%min based on orders, and holds few stocks in hand currently.
“The orders from overseas market have not increased obviously even after the summer vacation, while domestic market saw more purchasing activities recently and some traders and consumers build a few stocks, so the price for bismuth ingot picked up a bit recently and some producers began to hold back from selling materials. I think the price will keep moving up in September, but it will not see too sharp rebound due to the sufficient supply,” said the producer.
“We sold 5t of bismuth ingot 99.99%min at RMB68,000/t (USD4.83/lb) last week and quoted it at RMB69,000/t (USD4.90/lb) on Monday, with no deals concluded yet, but we do not intend to accept lower price . The market saw more inquiries since mid-August,” said a bismuth ingot producer in China.
Their output for bismuth ingot was 20t in August, 5t decreased against that in July, while their production capacity is 500tpy. The source added that they will make production plan in September on orders and do not intend to keep large stocks in hand, after all, the current supply for bismuth ingot is sufficient on the spot market and the large inventory in Fanya Exchange still worries the market.
