“We sent inquiry of 8t of bismuth ingot 99.99%min late last week. Most suppliers were holding back from selling materials and we finally purchased the material at RMB79,000/t (USD5.64/lb) on last Thursday from a regular supplier. The quotations for it increased further to RMB82,000-84,000/t (USD5 . 85-5.99/lb) on this Monday,” said a consumer in China . The consumer noted that most bismuth ingot suppliers’ inventory cost is high and most of them are unwilling to sell materials now, pushing up the price, however, the demand for their end products sees no improvement and they do not intend to add stocks in large quantities in a hurry.

The consumer claimed that they purchased around 40t of the material at RMB64,000/t (USD4.57/lb) and another 30t at RMB66,000-66,500/t (USD4 . 71-4.75/lb) in mid-August .
