The price of electrolytic manganese flake witnessed significant declines in China this month, especially in late September and the price was generally stable early this month. The price slump early this month could be attributed to the decreasing purchases resulted from sluggish demand of Chinese steel mills and the extremely quiet export market. With pessimistic attitudes, most market participants believed that it is difficult for the market to rebound before October. The summer holiday in the overseas market ended with the approaching of September, which however strengthened the sluggishness of the market instead of exerting some positive influences. The overseas market was abundant in manganese flake stocks and meanwhile China saw an oversupply of the material, both resulting in a steep decline in the export price of manganese flake. The export price remained stable temporarily, however weak sales were still prevailing in the export market.
