Along with the persistent weak demand and sluggish economic state, the Chinese titanium market remained dim in November. Titanium concentrate prices hovered over low price level with rare transactions concluded this month and producers held large stocks on hand because of few enquiries or orders. The supply of titanium slag remained stable in the market and the buying activity from downstream consumers kept on the hand-to-mouth style, and the price of high titanium slag decreased slightly firstly and held steady at a low level in the remainder of this month. Meanwhile, as to titanium sponge, the prices fell by a great deal continually and the market participants put it down to a strong supply of titanium sponge as well as the stock and capital pressure being for long. In line with the price dip in titanium sponge, the price of titanium tetrachloride also slid continually. Most small-sized titanium tetrachloride plants announced suspensions these two months successively and claimed had no intention to resume production. Titanium mill products market continued to see limited transactions due to the poor demand from consumers, the prices of titanium mill products dropped and the producers were pessimistic to the market trend in the coming month.
As to ferrotitanium market, there were still limited deals concluded in the whole November owing to the weak demand from steel industry. In overseas market, the prices of ferrotitanium moved down slightly at the beginning of this month together with the decreasing prices of raw materials and held temporarily steady in the second half of this month. Still, ferrotitanium participants held hand-to-mouth purchasing style in the spot market and a majority vast of business were concluded on a long term contracts. In domestic market, the consumers kept consuming in minimal volumes with a successive declining at the price, producers held a certain amount of stocks on hand and the ferrotitanium market is hard to warm up in the coming month.
