Magnesium metal bars with largest diameter put into massive production in Hebi

China's high-strength and heat-resistant magnesium alloy bars with largest diameter has been put into massive production in Hebi at present. On July 24, it was learnt from Hebi Wandefu Magnesium Technology Co., Ltd. that the diameter of such bar can reach above 630mm, which is mainly used in fields of aerospace, sophisticated weapons, etc., such as main bearing structure of drive system for aviation helicopters, main supporting beam of airborne rocket launcher, guidance section, tail cabin, engine support, etc. of surface-to-air missile.
According to sources, the company is the only one able to produce such bars in China at present and the material has been applied in certain armed helicopters and some new missiles, which was testified in flight and trial production. As the domestic demonstration base of magnesium processing industry, the comprehensive processing capacity in Hebi can reach nearly 300,000tpy and output of magnesium powder reached above 50% in total output in China and magnesium sacrificial anode output of accounts for above 40% in total global output. China's only national-level testing institution for magnesium and magnesium alloy products was established in Hebi in 2013.
It is reported that there are more than 20 backbone enterprises of magnesium metal in Hebi city with more than 60 independent intellectual property rights and patents technologies, initially forming a complete industrial chain from raw materials to finished products. At present, the magnesium deep-processing enterprises are booming currently, represented by D&D, Fumaite and Jinshan Magnesium and magnesium industrial cluster in Hebi is moving towards to the level of RMB10 billion in value.
