BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 Aug 18 - China Tin Group starts to heat furnaces now and expects to see refined tin on August 10 at earliest, a source from the company disclosed.
The source said that the company began to suspend production for maintenance from June 10 and delayed production resumption limited by the environmental inspection. "We were out of production for 50 days, leading to a decrease of about 1,500t of tin ingots," claimed the source.
With an annual capacity of 20,000t of tin ingots, China Tin Group uses tin concentrate to produce Jinhai tin ingot with Ausmelt process. It saw zero output of refined tin in July due to the production halt and expects to produce about 500t in August, holding no stocks of tin ingot now.
The company's tin concentrate is largely from its own mines. The treatment charges for tin concentrate 60%min purchased by it stand at RMB12,000-12,500/metal ton (USD1,764-1,837/metal ton) delivered at the moment, unchanged from June.
