South Korea to build Mg spare and accessory part industry park

South Korean Industry and Commerce Department ("the Department") is reported to be working with Balanced Development Commission on choosing the site for a proposed project on light-weight Mg products and accessory parts ("the Project")
It is reported that both sides intend to build a magnesium industry complex at a site near POSCO Mg-plate plant. A Suncheon-based new material subsidiary institute is proposed to be built as Mg research center; and in response to demand for light-weight materials, the Department also plans to set up a global Mg R&D center . By the year of 2025, South Korean government will invest KRW268 . 6 billion into constructing the global R&D center.
