  • Application section of China National Mg-alloy Material Engineering Technology Institute inaugurated in Chengdu

    On August 27, the application section of China National Mg-alloy Material Engineering Technology Institute ("the Institute") was inaugurated in Chengdu ZTSR Industrial Zone.

    As a joint venture between China Zhongtang Sky Railway Group (ZTSR) and Chongqing University, the Institute is mandated to set up its application center for transferring research results into actual application, to conduct research on comprehensive application of Mg-alloy in sky railways, to take part in joint research on the world's first all-Mg-alloy sky railway car, and to set up CAE (China Academy of Engineering) academician station and post-doctoral station.

    This cooperation between ZTSR and Chongqing University is expected to greatly help ZTSR sharpen up its technical research and innovation capacities, speed up its research on light-weight material used in sky railway cars, and further help China keep its global lead in new energy sky railway industry, and therefore is significant for China to boost its sky railway and Mg-alloy industries.
