China's automobile production and sales hit new high in Sep

The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (ACCM) released on October 13 the economic operation results of the automobile industry in September 2020. In September, the Chinese automobile market entered the traditional peak season, with both production and sales exceeding 2.5 million vehicles, setting a new high for the year, showing rapid growth on a MOM and YOY basis.
In September, China's automobile production and sales reached 2.524 million and 2.565 million respectively, increasing by 19.1% and 17.4% MOM and 14.1% and 12.9% YOY respectively.
In September, the production and sales of new energy vehicles both exceeded 130,000, and both showed substantial growth on a MOM and YOY basis, reaching 136,000 and 138,000 respectively, increasing by 28.9% and 26.2% MOM, and 48.0% and 67.7% YOY respectively. The monthly sales of new energy vehicles also set a new record.
From January to September, China's automobile production and sales totaled 16.957 million and 17.116 million, decreasing by 6.7% and 6.9% YOY respectively.
