China Foundry Association: China's Al-Mg alloy castings production reaches 7.2Mt in 2020

China's castings production totaled 54.05 million tonnes in 2021, up by 4% year on year, with two-year average growth at 5.3%, reflecting a steady development of the industry, according to a report issued by China Foundry Association on July 26.
In 2021, automotive castings production reached 15.4 million tonnes, up by 2.7% YoY driven by exports and accounting for 28.5% of the total castings production. The output of aluminum (magnesium) castings recorded 7.2 million tonnes and that of copper alloy castings reached 900,000 tonnes.
