Jiangnan Hongsheng commences operation of 150,000tpy aluminum-base alloy project

On the morning of October 16, the 150,000tpy aluminum-base alloy project invested by Jiangnan Hongsheng Aluminum Alloy New Materials Co., Ltd. went into formal operation in Yanshan, Yunnan.
The project has eight full-automatic Al-base alloy production lines for producing special steels and aluminum alloy materials used in auto, high-speed train, aviation and military industries. The projects adopts a new production process in which raw material aluminum ingot is replaced by molten aluminum, and its products have higher purity and lower costs. Compared with conventional process, the project enjoys a reduction of 70% in its electricity consumption. When the project ramps up to its nameplate capacity, it is expected to achieve an annual production value of RMB3 billion (USD0.42 billion) and contribute an annual taxation of RMB200 million (USD27.80 million).
