China launches pilot program for vehicle electrification in public sectors

China is launching a nationwide pilot program to fully electrify public sector vehicles for a two-year pilot period from 2023 to 2025, according to a document jointly released by eight government agencies, including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Transportation.
Through the pilot program, the country encourages innovation in enhancing vehicle electrification supports, promoting the NEVs adoption, the development of charging and battery swap infrastructure, the application of new technology, as well as improving the policy and management system, according to the document.
