Chongqing BoAo starts construction of high-performance Mg-alloy production base project

On February 24, a ceremony was held in Chongqing Wansheng Economic Development Zone to launch construction of major projects of the first quarter of 2023. One of the projects is the high-performance Mg-alloy production base and Mg-Al alloy R&D center project invested by Chongqing BoAo Magnesium Aluminum Manufacturing Co., Ltd. With a total investment of RMB1 billion (USD144 million) and a planned construction area of 45,000 square meters, the project will be built with die-casting, machining, reprocessing workshops, warehouses, research center and mould making workshop. When the project goes into operation, it is expected to have annual production capacities of 1.5 million units of 5G shielding case, 10 million units of NEV module plate, 1 million units of car seat, 300,000 units of car shock absorber. When ramping up to nameplate production capacities, the project is expected to bring in annual production value of RMB600 million (USD86.45 million) and taxation of RMB16 million (USD2.31 million).
