BEIJING (Asian Metal) 24 Mar 23 - Restricted by weak end demand and dropping antimony ingot prices, Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min prices moved down over the past week. Mainstream prices of Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min stand at RMB69,000-71,000/t (USD10,082-10,375/t) EXW D/P at present, down by about RMB2,000/t (USD292/t) from late last week. Given inactive deals on the market, insiders predict that mainstream prices of Chinese antimony trioxide 99.8%min would continue to show a downward trend in the coming week.
A producer in North China said, "We now quote RMB70,000/t (USD10,229/t) EXW D/P for antimony trioxide 99.5%min with no lower prices to be accepted. But our clients feel bearish on prices and therefore refuse to make purchases. We made no sales yet so far this week and last sold around 30t at RMB72,000/t (USD10,522/t) in early March. " According to the producer, as prices move down, this week the antimony trioxide 99.5%min market sees inactive deals with limited spot enquiries seen. The producer made no sales on the spot market over the recent two weeks as consumers harbor strong watchful sentiments. He believes that mainstream prices of Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would still show a downward trend on the whole in the coming week as a result of inactive deals.
With an annual production capacity of 5,000t of antimony trioxide 99.5%min, the producer totally produced about 4,000t of the material in 2022 and expects to produce around 300t this month, compared with 280t last month. He holds about 100t of stocks now unchanged from last month.
