NBS: China's primary aluminum output up by 5.9% YoY in Q1

Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed that, in March 2023, China produced about 6.81 million tons of alumina, down by 0.5% YoY; while it produced about 3.37 million tons of primary aluminum, 5.79 million tons of aluminum products, and 1.32 million tons of aluminum alloy, up by 3%, 9.1%, and 16% YoY respectively.
From January to March, the production of alumina totaled about 19.78 million tons, up by 6.2% YoY; that of primary aluminum totaled about 10.1 million tons, up by 5.9% YoY; that of aluminum products totaled about 14.32 million tons, up by 2.9% YoY; and that of aluminum alloy totaled about 3.13 million tons, up by 12.3% YoY.
