BEIJING (Asian Metal) 25 Apr 23 - Although the purchase activities from downstream clients have no signs to become more active, most Chinese suppliers of Gabonese manganese ore prefer to firm prices due to high costs
A trader in South China disclosed, "We hold our quotation for Gabonese ore Mn44%min, Fe6%max, Si6%max, P0.13%max at Qinzhou port unchanged from late last week at RMB39/dmtu (USD5.65/dmtu) without concessions". The trader received an inquiry of 500t at RMB39/dmtu (USD5.65/dmtu) today and they think they could close the deal tomorrow. They last sold 600t at RMB39/dmtu (USD5.65/dmtu) mid last week . Considering suppliers' intention to firm prices, the trader expects that the mainstream prices of Gabonese manganese ore in China would remain unchanged this week.
The trader, based on the typical monthly trading volume of about 10,000t of Gabonese manganese ore, intends to sell nearly 8,000t this month, on par with last month. The trader holds around 5,000t of inventory at present.
Another trader in South China stated that they quoted RMB39.5/dmtu (USD5.73/dmtu) for Gabonese ore Mn44%min, Fe6%max, Si6%max, P0.13%max at Qinzhou port and they could consider the price as low as RMB39/dmtu (USD5.65/dmtu), unchanged from late last week .
