BEIJING (Asian Metal) 28 Apr 23 - Chinese antimony trioxide export market sees inactive deals due to the slack demand from overseas buyers amid a strong wait-and-see sentiment. Mainstream export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.55% now stand at USD10,200-10,400/t FOB China, unchanged from early this week. As the export market stays inactive, insiders believe that export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would remain flat in the coming week.
An exporter in South China said, "We quote antimony trioxide 99.5%min at USD10,300/t FOB China to a South Korean client and we would consider a concession of USD100/t for firm orders from regular clients. However, the client hesitates to purchase as their overseas clients are relatively cautious about buying. We exported just around 40t a month in March and April, against our regular exports of more than 60t", said the exporter, adding that they last exported about 20t of antimony trioxide 99.5%min at USD10,300/t a week ago. He explained that the export market remains slack now and most end users said there are not enough orders from the overseas market and they could hardly accept the current prices. Given the inactive export market, the exporter believes that export prices for Chinese antimony trioxide 99.5%min would stay flat on the whole in the coming week.
With a regular monthly export volume of 80t of antimony trioxide 99.5%min, they exported about 600t in total last year and around 200t so far this year, expecting about 40t in April, on par with last month. They have no stocks in hand now, the same as a month ago.
Another exporter in South China said, "We now quote antimony trioxide 99.5%min at USD10,200/t FOB China. We didn't close any deals this week but we got 2-3 orders from clients who are still hesitating to purchase at the offer. We might export about 100t in April, compared with our regular monthly export of around 200t".
