China's alumina production down by 0.8% YoY in Aug

In August 2023, China produced 7.08 million tonnes of alumina, down by 0.8% YoY, 3.60 million tonnes of primary aluminum, up by 3.1% YoY, 1.25 million tonnes of aluminum alloy, up by 9.9% YoY, and 5.48 million tonnes of aluminum products, up by 6.6% YoY, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
From January to August, the country's alumina production was 54.54 million tonnes, up by 0.6% from the prior year period; primary aluminum production reached 27.23 million tonnes, up by 2.9% YoY; aluminum alloy output increased by 16.3% YoY to 9.29 million tonnes; aluminum products output increased by 4.3% YoY to 40.89 million tonnes.
