Kanghong New Material kicks off construction of 6Mtpa alumina project

On November 21, Kanghong New Material Co., Ltd. broke ground on an alumina production project with capacity of 6 million tonnes per annum (6Mtpa) in Holingol, Inner Mongolia.
The project, with a total investment of RMB3.1 billion (USD434 million), is expected to commence production in 2024 and would generate annual industrial output value of RMB18 billion (USD2.52 billion). With the project kicking off construction, Holingol expects to further boost its aluminum industry chain from the production of alumina, primary aluminum and aluminum profiles to the deep-processing of aluminum products.
