China's alumina production up by 1.4% YoY in 2023

In December 2023, China produced about 6.84 million tonnes of alumina, up by 5.1% YoY, 3.59 million tonnes of primary aluminum, up by 4.9% YoY, 1.39 million tonnes of aluminum alloy, up by 36.4% YoY, and 5.95 million tonnes of aluminum products, up by 14.0% YoY, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
From January to December, alumina production amounted to 82.44 million tonnes, up by 1.4% YoY; primary aluminum production totaled 41.59 million tonnes, up by 3.7% YoY; aluminum alloy output increased by 17.8% YoY to 14.59 million tonnes; aluminum products output rose by 5.7% YoY to 63.03 million tonnes.
