Malaysia Modeltech cuts tin ingot production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 6 Mar 24 - A small-sized tin ingot 99.90%min producer in Malaysia, Modeltech Sdn Bhd Co., Ltd., would halve the production to about 10t in March.
"Because of limited raw materials, we would produce about 10t of tin ingot this month, down by around 10t from last month," the source from the company added, and they disclosed that they would probably keep the same output ideally next month.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 800t for tin ingot, purchased tin scrap form local electronics factories to produce tin ingot 99.90%min and sold to clients in local market. They produced about 280t last year and 50t so far this year, holding no inventory now.
Currently, the mainstream prices of tin ingot 99.90%min stand at USD26,500-26,600/t EXW D/P in Malaysia, down by USD200/t from last yesterday. Due to tight supply of raw materials, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Malaysian tin ingot would go up in the following days.
