1. Market Highlights
Most magnesite suppliers increased their prices slightly this month in spite of sluggish deals. At the beginning of the month, the government still imposed restrictions on the use of explosives in mines, resulting in a decrease in supply, leading to a slight increase in prices.
Most caustic calcined magnesia producers decreased their prices slightly this month to protect the inventory from increasing further; most exporters of caustic calcined magnesia 90%min 200 mesh decreased their prices due to decreased domestic prices.
Most producers of dead burned magnesia 90%min and dead burned magnesia 95%min held their prices this month in view of thin profits. However, the prices of dead burned magnesia 97%min increased slightly due to an increasing in Magnesite; the export prices of Chinese dead burned magnesia 90%min and dead burned magnesia 95%min kept stable due to flat domestic prices. However, the international prices of dead burned magnesia went down due to decreased ocean freight. The oversea market saw few deals during the past month.
Although the market kept weak demand, most fused magnesia suppliers remained their prices unchanged this month in view of firm production cost; the mainstream export prices of the products above followed the trends of domestic prices in this month.
