Western Mining reports higher annual production of refined copper, lead and zinc

China's Western Mining mined 29.78 million tonnes, shipped 31.14 million tonnes and processed 30.09 million tonnes of ores in 2023, completing 98.92%, 100.31% and 97.37% of its respective target, according to the company's annual report.
In 2023, Western Mining produced 60,339 tonnes of lead in concentrate, up by 17% YoY, 120,305 tonnes of zinc in concentrate, up by 7.4% YoY, 131,298 tonnes of copper in concentrate, down by 9% YoY, 3,401 tonnes of molybdenum in concentrate, up by 1.9% YoY, 1,425 tonnes of ammonium metavanadate, up by 24.5% YoY, and 1.19 million tonnes of iron concentrate, down by 34% YoY.
The company reported higher refined production in the year, including 182,974 tonnes of refined copper, 90,925 tonnes of refined lead and 118,752 tonnes of refined zinc, up by 10.53%, 21.78% and 37.14% respectively from the prior year.
In 2023, the company also produced about 128,000 tonnes of high-purity magnesium hydroxide, up by 33% YoY, and 55,438 tonnes of high-purity magnesium oxide, up by 74% YoY.
