The Chinese antimony market ran slowly in February which coincided with the Spring Festival holiday. Supported by tight supply in the raw material market on the whole and firm costs, insiders in the domestic antimony market had strong intention to keep their prices firm, which stimulated mainstream prices in the market to go up slightly in spite of limited deals. Prices of antimony products moved upwards slightly in early February, when most consumers just kept purchasing based on orders; at the end of February after the end of the Spring Festival holiday, quotations in the market stayed firm and prices generally kept steady against the backdrop of limited supply in the market. Given insufficient supply in the international market, the European and American antimony ingot spot markets saw tight supply in February and prices stood at a high level. However, as a result of the lack of demand from end users, purchases were inactive in the European and American markets and most local consumers only waited on the sidelines, so prices just kept steady amid stalemates.
