Chinese bismuth ingot prices stable

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Mar 24 - Most Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min participants held back from selling due to limited stocks and the downstream purchased from hand to mouth. Currently, Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min mainstream prices hover at RMB54,500-55,500/t (USD3.43-3.50/lb) EXW D/P, in line with early this week. Given that suppliers intended to kept the prices firm supported by limited stocks, insiders predicted that the mainstream prices of Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min would move up in the upcoming week.
A producer in North China disclosed that they considered selling bismuth ingot 99.99%min at the price as low as RMB55,000/t (USD3.47/lb) EXW D/P presently, in line with early this week. "We last sold 33t at RMB53,500/t (USD3.38/lb) late last month and then kept watching the market", said the producer. Given that they, like other producers, held limited stocks now and buyers inquired actively, they predicted that the mainstream prices of Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min would increase in the upcoming week.
The producer, based on a production capacity of 3,600tpy of bismuth ingot 99.99%min, expected to produce almost 150t this month and produced about 150t in January. They hold around 66t of stocks now, in line with the end of last month.
A trader mentioned that they could purchase bismuth ingot 99.99%min at the price as low as RMB56,000/t (USD3.53/lb) EXW D/P presently, in line with early this week. They just purchased almost 33t at RMB56,000/t (USD3.53/lb) yesterday. The trader said, "We believed that the mainstream prices of Chinese bismuth ingot 99.99%min would increased further due to limited stocks held by most producers".
The trader, based on a monthly trading volume of 66t of bismuth ingot 99.99%min, holds around 100t of stocks now, up by 66t from late last week. They expect to sell 66t in March, in line with last month.
