PT. Bangka Prima Tin to resume tin ingot production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 26 Mar 24 - PT. Bangka Prima Tin Co., Ltd., one of major tin ingot 99.90%min producers in Indonesia, would resume the production of tin ingot next month with no output in March.
"As we would get export quotas at the end of this month, we would resume the production of tin ingot at the end of April," the source from the company claimed. They added that they would probably produce about 100t next month.
Based on an annual production capacity of 6,000t for tin ingot, the company purchases tin concentrate 67-70%min from their own mine to produce tin ingot 99.90%min. They totally produced about 2,500t in 2023 and recorded no output so far this year due to limited export quotas, holding no inventory now.
The mainstream prices of tin ingot 99.90%min stood at USD27,600-27,700/t FOB Indonesia today, down by USD100/t from last Friday. Although the supply kept tight as most smelters in Indonesia suspended production, the market saw weak demand during the past month. Therefore, insiders predicted that the mainstream prices of Indonesian tin ingot would keep stable in the following days.
