"Our company took the Spring Festival holiday in February and did not start resuming production until February 27 with almost no output in February. We resumed normal production in March and expect to produce about 2,000t of aluminum alloy ingot in March", a source from the company said, adding that they mainly use imported aluminum scrap to produce secondary aluminum alloy ingot.
With an annual production capacity of 60,000t, the company saw an output of about 25,000t in 2023 and expects to produce around 3,200t in the first three months of this year, holding about 180t of aluminum alloy ingot stocks at the moment.
On Monday, mainstream prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 stayed at RMB19,500-19,700/t (USD2,704-2,732/t) delivered D/P, stable from last Friday. Insiders noted that the market demand for secondary aluminum alloy ingot remained weak this week, but supported by the shortage of raw material aluminum scrap, the prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 are expected to remain firm in the coming week.
