BEIJING (Asian Metal) 28 Mar 24 - Jiujiang Weiger Metal Manufacturing Co
"Our company suspended production for the Spring Festival holiday from January 31 to February 23, and restarted production on February 24, with the output of only about 600t in February. We resumed normal operation in March and expect the output to reach about 3,500t in March," a source from the company said, adding that they now operate a 50-ton top furnace and a 30-ton bottom furnace.
With an annual production capacity of 100,000t, the company owns two sets of smelting furnaces, each equipped with a 50-ton top furnace and a 30-ton bottom furnace. They produced about 21,000t in 2023 and hold about 500t of stocks now.
On Wednesday, mainstream prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 stood at RMB19,400-19,600/t (USD2,685-2,712/t) delivered D/P, down by RMB100/t (USD13.84/t) from last Friday. Insiders said that the demand for secondary aluminum alloy ingot is weak at present and producers bear great inventory pressure, so prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 might drop by RMB100/t (USD13.84/t) in the coming week.
