SeAl & Co plans to increase secondary aluminum alloys production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Mar 24 - SeAl & Co., a major secondary aluminum alloys producer in Russia, plans to restart the second smelting furnace with the production capacity of 24,000tpy two months later, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We might restart the second smelting furnace in the middle of this year, as the demand would improve," said the source, who would produce over 1,000t in March, the same as last month and holds no stock now.
With two smelting furnaces and the total production capacity of 48,000tpy, they produced over 2,000t so far this year and around 14,000t in total in 2023.
Current mainstream prices for secondary aluminum alloy ingots ADC12 keep at USD2,380-2,480/t CIF China, up by USD70/t from one week ago because of the increased aluminum scraps price. Due to the Red Sea crisis, the aluminum scraps supply remains tight.
