"We suspended production for the Spring Festival holiday starting from February 2 and resumed production on February 24, with the production time of only about one week in February. We restarted normal production in March and produced about 2,300t of aluminum alloy ingot in March," a source from the company said, adding that they operate a 70-ton top furnace and a 35-ton bottom furnace currently.
With an annual production capacity of 80,000t, the company produced about 23,700t in 2023 and holds about 300t of aluminum alloy ingot in stock now.
On Monday, mainstream prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 stood at RMB19,500-19,800/t (USD2,696-2,738/t) delivered D/P, up by RMB100/t (USD13.83/t) from last Friday . Insiders said that the demand for secondary aluminum alloy ingot is weak at present, and producers bear heavy inventory pressure, so prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 would move down in the following week.
