Phase one of Beihai ecological aluminum project begins construction

On March 26, Guangxi Investment Group's Beihai Ecological Aluminum Project began the construction and installation engineering of phase one 2Mtpa alumina production, red mud transport and storage yard project.
Beihai Ecological Aluminum Project is located at Guangxi Investment Group Lingang Circular Economy Industrial Park in Tieshan'gang District, Beihai. With a total investment of around RMB50 billion (USD6 . 91 billion), the project has designed production capacities of 4Mtpa of alumina, 700,000tpa of primary aluminum, 300,000tpa of high-quality secondary aluminum, 1Mtpa of aluminum extrusions and 500,000tpa of prebaked anode, and will recycle red mud produced from the project . When fully operational, the project is expected to achieve an annual production value of nearly RMB60 billion (USD8 . 29 billion), along with tax revenue of RMB4 billion (USD553 million) . The project is scheduled to go into operation in 2024.
