Senze Coal & Aluminum to restart normal alumina production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 4 Apr 24 - Liulin Senze Coal & Aluminum Co., a medium-sized alumina producer in Shanxi of China, plans to restart normal operation from late April and might produce over 100,000t in May, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We plan to resume normal operation from late this month and the production volume might reach over 100,000t next month," said the source, who would produce around 60,000t in April and holds no stock now. They once cut production from late last year due to the bauxite shortage supply.
Based on two production lines and the total production capacity of 1.6 million tonnes, they produced around 200,000t so far this year and around 1.3 million tonnes in 2023.
Current mainstream prices for alumina 98.5%min in north China keep at RMB3,230-3,250/t (USD446-449/t) EXW, stable from early this week. The Chinese origin bauxite supply remains tight now and many alumina producers focus on imported bauxite consumption.
