Inner Mongolia Xinwang starts alumina equipment repairing

"We would restart alumina production in July after finishing equipment repairing," says the source, noting that they will restart both two production lines with the total production capacity of 1 million tonnes per year and might release alumina in August.

The alumina refinery once shut down production in the middle of last year due to losses and produced around 80,000t in 2023 with no stock now.

Current mainstream prices for alumina in north China stand at RMB3,240-3,260/t (USD448-451/t) EXW, up by RMB20/t (USD3/t) from late last week, supported by the increased bauxite prices.
