Hongcheng Aluminum completes secondary aluminum alloy production equipment maintenance

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Apr 24 - Jiangxi Hongcheng Aluminum Co., Ltd., one of the major secondary aluminum alloy ingot producers in Central China, completed the maintenance of production equipment on April 2 and resumed production with the aluminum alloy ingot output expected to be about 3,500t in April.
"Since the end of January, we shut down two sets of furnaces for maintenance, one of which completed the maintenance and resumed production on February 25. The remaining set of furnaces finished maintaining in late March and started preheating furnaces. The furnace began to produce the material on April 2 formally and we expect to produce about 3,500t of aluminum alloy ingot in April", a source from the company mentioned, adding that their production in March was about 3,100t.
With an annual production capacity of 200,000t, having two set of furnaces, the company saw an output of around 386,000t in 2023 and 6,200t or so in the first quarter of 2024, holding no inventory of aluminum alloy ingot now.
On Thursday, mainstream prices for Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 stood at RMB19,800-20,000/t (USD2,736-2,763/t) delivered D/P, in line with Wednesday. Insiders noted that supported by the continued rise in electrolytic aluminum prices, the prices of Chinese aluminum alloy ingot ADC12 are expected to remain firm in the following week.
