China's Q1 alumina production up by 2.8% YoY

In March 2024, China produced about 6.78 million tonnes of alumina, up by 0.5% YoY, 3.59 million tonnes of primary aluminum, up by 7.4% YoY, 1.45 million tonnes of aluminum alloy, up by 10.4% YoY, and 6.03 million tonnes of aluminum products, up by 8.4% YoY, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
During the first quarter, alumina production totaled 20.17 million tonnes, up by 2.8% YoY; primary aluminum production reached 10.69 million tonnes, up by 6.8% YoY; aluminum alloy output increased by 19.4% YoY to 3.69million tonnes; aluminum products output rose by 13.5% YoY to 15.69 million tonnes.
