BAP speeds up alumina project construction

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Apr 24 - PT Borneo Alumindo Prima (BAP), a new alumina producer in Indonesia, speeds up the project construction and plans to launch production in early 2025 with the annual production capacity of 1 million tonnes, a source from the company reports to Asian Metal.
"We might launch the project early next year with the production capacity of 1 million tonnes per year," says the source, who once planned to launch production in the second half of 2025.
The project, located in West Kalimantan of Indonesia, is wholly invested by China Jinjiang Group with the budget of around USD800 million. The designed production capacity could reach 2 million tonnes per year.
Current mainstream prices for alumina 98.5%min keep at USD370-375/t FOB Indonesia, stable from late last week . For the cheaper cost in Indonesia, Chinese investors in Indonesia speed up alumina projects construction.
