Construction officially begins on 6Mtpa alumina project in Holingol

On April 19, construction formally began on a 6Mtpa alumina project developed by Inner Mongolia Kanghong New Material Co., Ltd. in Holingol, just nine months after the start of preparation work.
With a total investment of RMB3.08 billion (USD425 million), the project would be able to produce 6 million tonnes of alumina annually, and when reaching full capacity, it is expected to achieve an annual operating revenue of RMB16.1 billion (USD2.22 billion) and tax revenue of RMB770 million (USD106 million), creating nearly 220 jobs.
The project is expected to fill the gap in alumina production in Holingol and even the eastern part of Inner Mongolia, further expanding the local green aluminum material industrial chain.
