BEIJING (Asian Metal) 30 Apr 24 - Terra Aqua Metal Recycling Plant, a major secondary aluminum alloys producer in Nigeria, produced around 500t in April, down from around 1,600t last month, a source from the company reports to Asian Metal.
"We produced around 500t this month, down from around 1,600t last month," says the source, adding that they are rebuilding one aluminum scraps sorting plant, so the production volume in April reduced. They plan to increase production from June, when the production volume would reach around 6,000t.
With the production capacity of 72,000tpy, they produced over 5,000t so far this year and around 40,000t in total last year with no stock now.
Current mainstream prices for secondary aluminum alloys ingot ADC12 keep at USD2,400-2,450/t CIF Japan, up by USD50/t from one week ago, due to the increased aluminum scraps price. Producers remain confident in the price now.
