    1. Market Highlights

    In May, the mainstream prices for Chinese HC and LC ferrochrome edge up driven by increased prices of chrome ore, but the demand kept soft. Mainstream prices for silicon chromium and Imported prices for ferrochrome in China followed suit.

    In May, the import prices and in port prices for South African, Turkish and Zimbabwean chrome ore in China moved up as most overseas suppliers lifted prices supported by positive attitudes.

    Prices for Chinese chrome metal edged up in May; prices for chromium oxide green and chromic anhydride prices edged up as prices of raw materials increased, but most buyers held back from purchasing due to weak demand.
