    1.Market Highlights

    Magnesite: Almost all magnesite mines in Liaoning remain in suspension this month. Therefore, miners hold back from selling and try to lift the prices.

    Driven by the shrunken supply, increased prices of magnesite and the increased electricity price, most magnesia producers raise their prices.

    2 Economy and Policy

    2.1 Liaoning sets magnesite production quota for 2024

    Liaoning has set a total magnesite production quota of 10.48 million tonnes for 2024, which is 50% of the total mining capacity of legal mining licenses approved by the province. 

    The halved supply of magnesite encourages miners and magnesia producers to increase their prices.
