Mineral resources with over 3.6Mt of contained copper found in Heilongjiang

Heilongjiang Duobaoshan Copper Industry Inc, a subsidiary of Zijin Mining, provided an update on mineral resources at Tongshan copper mine in Heilongjiang, with an increase of 3.65 million tonnes of contained copper found at two deposits in the deeper zone of the mine, including a deposit containing 2.81 million tonnes of the metal, which makes it the only massive copper deposit ever found in northeastern China over the past four decades.
The prospecting work at Tongshan copper mine started in 2018 and achieved great results in 2020, with more than 73,000 meters drilled to date. The updated mineral resources increase also contains 130,000 tonnes of molybdenum, 55 tonnes of gold and 1,104 tonnes of silver.
Duobaoshan Copper owns two massive low-grade porphyry copper mines. With the newly added mineral resources, the total contained copper estimated at Duobaoshan could exceed 5.6 million tonnes. Duobaoshan Copper has become one of the most important copper ore production bases in China. The company achieved mined production of 110,000 tonnes of copper and 2.6 tonnes of gold in 2023.
