China's alumina output up by 1.7% YoY in May

In May 2024, China produced about 7.13 million tonnes of alumina, up by 1.7% YoY, 3.65 million tonnes of primary aluminum, up by 7.2% YoY, 1.43 million tonnes of aluminum alloy, up by 8.8% YoY, and 5.95 million tonnes of aluminum products, up by 8.4% YoY, according to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics.
During the January-May period, the country's alumina output totaled 34.14 million tonnes, up by 1.9% YoY; primary aluminum production reached 17.89 million tonnes, up by 7.1% YoY; aluminum alloy output increased by 12.5% YoY to 6.56 million tonnes; aluminum products output increased by 11% YoY to 27.32 million tonnes.
