Boao Magnesium's Wansheng Mg-Al alloy production base put into operation

On June 28, Chongqing Boao Magnesium Aluminum Manufacturing Co., Ltd. put into operation the high-performance and lightweight magnesium-aluminum alloy production base and innovation R&D center ("the project") in Wansheng District.
The project broke ground in April 2022, with a total land area of 77,118 square meters. It has annual production capacities of 1.5 million pieces of 5G shield case, 10 million pieces of NEV modules end plate and 1 million tonnes of car seats. The project is expected to add annual production value of around RMB600 million (USD82.56 million) along with tax revenue of RMB16 million (USD2.2 million), and would help create nearly 500 jobs.
As a subsidiary of Baowu Magnesium, Boao Magnesium produced the first batch of Mg-Al product this June, with projected product area of more than 9,000 square meters and a weight reduction of 32% compared with aluminum alloy material, which makes it the largest commercial deep-processed magnesium alloy product used for passenger vehicle in China.
